The Great Confession
One day when Jesus arrived in Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples who men think he was. The disciples said some refer to him
as John the Baptist, some said Elijah, some said Jeremiah and some just simply
said one of the prophets.
Then Jesus again asked them who they think he was. Peter said
he was the Christ, the son of the living God. Jesus said blessed are you Simon
Bar-Jona. He said it was not flesh and blood that had revealed that information
to him but rather his father in heaven.
Then Jesus called Peter as the rock on which he was going to
build his church and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. Jesus
said he would give the keys to the kingdom of heaven to Peter and whatever he
shall bind of earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever he shall loose on
earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Then Jesus warned the disciples not to tell anyone that he
was the Christ.
